Analyzing Tool for Radar Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Analysis of radar data has a quite important role, not just in the work of extending the libraries, which are used in military aircrafts to discover and identify enemy radars and other similar threats. It has also an important role in the process of developing the advanced systems that discovers, identifies and distinguishes the great number of radars and similar threats in an environment. These systems have as a task to from a quantity of input data, containing information of pulses, correlate these to a number of unique emitters (i.e. reports of radars) to output data. A unique radar can, as its characterization changes over time, have a number of emitter reports. Each such emitter report is updated with the new information of the radar as it is discovered once again. With the purpose to improve the systems; the input and output are analyzed with the intention of gaining an understanding of how the system really performed their tasks. SaabTech already today utilizes a tool called ANNALYS. This tool is to a great benefit for the analysts as they easier can see relations between the output and input data, but also relations between the various pulses in the input data. Despite this unique tool it is quite time-consuming to accomplish certain analyses. One of the main problems behind this is that a function that can relate the output with input data does not exist, which forces the analysts to do this work manually. The difficulty of this correlation lies in principle in the lack of sufficient data, which directly can be used to relate the output with input data. We have therefore in this master’s project designed and implemented an automatically solution to this problem, which will make the analyzing much easier for the analysts. We have also in this master’s project discovered a relation between the data in the output, which have made it possible to relate different emitters originating from the same radar. This will make it easier to get an image of how a certain radar works over time. This kind of knowledge is crucial as it directly may contribute to a radically improvement of the identification of radars. Beside of have designed and implemented the above mentioned discovery we have also, with the purpose of simplifying the analysis work even more, designed and implemented some functionality as histograms, statistics etc. of the data. The above functionality has been implemented after a study of the current used analysis tool, and also after an understanding of how the data are analysed. This study has been done, knowing the needs that existed and that were a lack in the current application. Some studies have also been made of how the systems in the military aircrafts create the output from the input data. The resulting application of this master’s project has made it much easier for the analysts to analyze both the pulse data and the emitter data, not only separately, buy also jointly. One of the most common natural phenomena occurring in mountainous regions of the world is landslide which causes critical damages and is considered as a natural disaster. Iran is a country which annually suffers from this disaster and its consequent damage of about 500 billion Rial. Over the last 15 years, an increasing number of researches have aimed to demonstrate the applicability of the im...
متن کاملThe SARPROZ InSAR tool for urban subsidence/manmade structure stability monitoring in China
In this work we introduce a very flexible research tool for processing Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data. The software, called SARPROZ, is able to perform different multi-temporal analysis like Permanent Scatterers (PS), Quasi-PS (QPS) and much more. SARPROZ has been intensively used for analyzing several test-sites in China with different spaceborne SAR data. Here we show r...
متن کاملApplication of Benford’s Law in Analyzing Geotechnical Data
Benford’s law predicts the frequency of the first digit of numbers met in a wide range of naturally occurring phenomena. In data sets, following Benford’s law, numbers are started with a small leading digit more often than those with a large leading digit. This law can be used as a tool for detecting fraud and abnormally in the number sets and any fabricated number sets. This can be used as an ...

The air transportation system faces a challenge in accommodating growing air traffic despite an inability to build new runways at most major airports. One approach to alleviating congestion is to find ways of using each available runway to the maximum extent possible without violating safety standards. Some decision support tools, such as the Final Approach Spacing Tool (FAST) that is a part of...
